Sailors with disABILITIES

SWD Yacht MokshaKayle racing yacht sailors with disabilities

A very generous donation has added the wonderful Hanse 540 cruising boat Moksha to the SWD fleet.

With her previous owner, Moksha participated in offshore and club racing and completed extensive cruising of the South Pacific.

Affectionately known as the 'orange faceboat', Moksha provides a fabulous, versatile platform for a number of our programs.

A recent government grant will enable Moksha to be refitted with higher lifelines and other modifications appropriate to SWD’s operational safety standards.

And if you're curious... the word Moksha is a Sanskrit language word meaning "liberation from the limitations and tribulations of wordly existence". Something some of us feel when we are out on the water, perhaps?
