Until this ambitious project was unveiled at 1 May launch
by patron, Ian Keirnan, it was known as the 03 Project.
The circumnavigation of Australia will follow the route taken
by Matthew Flinders in the late seventeenth century. With
Trim the Cat on board – the crew is looking forward
to success in breaking the 44 day non-stop journey.
As announced at the 1 May launch, due to weather and tidal
considerations, departure dates and times are yet to be locked
in, but the crew is ready to depart early May when conditions
are right.
As a result, we would like you to register your school’s
interest in following the crew’s adventure. Once the
date is marked, official timekeepers in position, we will
email you with the departure details.
By logging onto the website www.sailorswithdisabilities.com
you will have a window into the challenges for a disabled
crew on sea for 44 days non-stop around Australia.
The crew plans to arrive back in Sydney Harbour around mid
June
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
Activities for your class:
To
add some excitement, we have a competition called ‘Where’s
Trim and Albert's Legs?’.
Trim the Cat has been up to all sorts of mischief with Albert’s
legs and they could be anywhere.
It's not to late to enter - even if you missed the first
couple of tipping weeks you could still be in the running.
Can you spot where they are?
